Poem:Street Sweeper

*Street Sweeper* 4/12/12 : 30in30

Shattered pieces
Of a broken soul
Scattered against the pavement
People
Always seem to walk
Past the forgotten
Love never cleans up the mess
It leaves behind
So- the street sweeper jumps out
Hoping it can grab what
Blew into the road
Tossing it to the trash
Just like the past lover’s
Of the broken soul
It’s no use trying to make
A heart beat once it’s stopped
Because from then on
It’s never beating off
The same rhythm it once had
Now its a borrowed support
Only lasting as long as the Vibrational shock wave…
So- next time you see that broken soul-
Do me a favor
Don’t try to piece it back together-
I left it for the street sweeper.
